Joe Manganiello has landed the role of Alcide Herveaux, Sookie’s werewolf-toy in the hit vampire series.

Best known for his roles as a barkeep on One Tree Hill and a love-interest on How I Met Your Mother, Manganiello’s new hairy character is next season’s most important addition to True Blood, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Based on Charlaine Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse series, The Southern Vampires Mysteries, the upcoming season of True Blood finds Eric (Alex Skarsgård) summoning Alcide to help Sookie search for vampire Bill, her main love interest.
